Brief Description

We are seeking to employ and train one apprentice. You will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing, the initial training will be broad based leading to a first appointment as a CNC Machinist.

Qualifications Required

Minimum qualifications for applying are 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) of grade c/4 or above which must include mathematics and English language.

Personal Qualities

? The successful applicant will be keen and dedicated at all times (Including exemplary timekeeping and attendance), whilst proving the ability to understand engineering concepts.

Skills Required

? A good level of education and excellent organisational skills.
? Applicants with an interest in CNC machining are most suited for this vacancy

Training to be Provided

? Engineering Basic Skills training ? (EEF Training Centre, Aston, Birmingham).
? NVQ level 3.
? A Technical Certificate (Btec Diploma Level 3 or City and Guilds Level 3).

Future Prospects

Progression will depend on the individual's abilities and attributes. Towards the end of the apprenticeship, the apprentice and the company will discuss the best pathway for further development.

Vacancy Detail

We are seeking to employ and train one apprentice. You will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing, the initial training will be broad based leading to a first appointment as a CNC Machinist. This position will be best suited to applicants with good practical skills and an interest in engineering based projects.
As a trained Machinists you will:
? Interpret component drawings supplied as hard copy or computer generated images.
? Work with 2D and 3D computer aided design and manufacturing software (CAD/ CAM) to create tool machine cutting programmes.
? Create most cost effective manufacturing route.
? Select optimum cutting speeds and feeds and correct tools for each stage of manufacture.
? Produce components in line with customer requirements.
? Checking the component dimensions using a range of measuring equipment to include digital micrometres, height gauges, Veniers , co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM) and in process gauging.
? Conduct routine machine maintenance.
