Brief Description

The applicant will train, acquiring knowledge and experience towards learning how to design, install, commission and maintain Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS).

Qualifications Required

A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) including Maths, English and Science.

Personal Qualities

This would suit someone with a practical nature, able to work independently who is self motivated.

Skills Required

Excellent communication skills, good problem solving skills, IT literate.

Training to be Provided

? NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
? A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
? In house training in line with your requirements.

Vacancy Detail

The applicant will be based at our Castle Bromwich office but will work generally on customers sites across the region. They may also need to work from time to time in other parts of the country when engaged in project work. This is a technical role and the applicant will use PC based engineering tools to design, test and commission building management system (BMS) to control commercial building processes such as heating and ventilation systems, lighting, door access and energy management within all sorts of buildings such as schools, hospitals, universities, airports, offices etc.
The skills you will learn will take you in to a the specialist field of BMS engineering and include: -

? Control panel building / modification
? Understanding and designing electrical wiring diagrams
? Understanding of Electrical and Electronic systems
? Understanding of mechanical systems e.g. boilers, control valves, chilled water systems and ventilation etc
? IT skills and networking
? Graphic programming
? Understanding of control strategy diagrams including logic and analogue functions
? Testing and proving of new installations
? Fault finding
? Maintaining BMS controls
