Brief Description

We are offering the opportunity to become a Welder/Fabricator. The role will be varied, across many sectors of industry: Construction, Nuclear, Petrochemical and Defence. The role will support us in looking to expand our product range, consolidate our position within the forging industry and to become the most diverse and versatile Forge in the UK.

Qualifications Required

A minimum of 2 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade C (4) or above In Maths and English Language

Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations

Please note that this Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship will last for 12-18 months. It will involve spending one day per week at MAKE UK's state-of-the-art Training Hub in Aston, and four days per week at the employer's site for the duration of the apprenticeship.

We are seeking to employ and train an apprentice who will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing. The initial training will be broad based and could lead to a first appointment as a Welder and Fabricator

Duties will Include:
Working to drawings, samples and verbal instruction
Learning different welding techniques as required
Learning to use various fabricating machines, bending, rolling, piercing etc.
Learning skills relating to both manual and robotic welding

This is a level 2 apprenticeship so please note that you will only be eligible if you have NOT completed a prior level 3 (A Level / BTEC Level 3) in Engineering. This apprenticeship is an 18 month day release course where you will spend 4 days at the company and 1 day per week at make UK's training facility.

This is a role within a traditional engineering company and therefore comes with a traditional industrial environment which at times can be noisy, hot, dirty, and tiring
