Brief Description

Working within a fast-paced Just In Time (JIT) Automotive manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in ensuring our manufacturing operation runs smoothly as it is vital to our success.

Qualifications Required

Minimum of 4 GCSE?s at grades A*-C (9-4) or Grade 4 and above, in Maths, English, Science, IT or Manufacturing

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:
? Engineering Basic Skills training ? off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
? NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
? A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
? In house training in line with your requirements.

We are seeking to employ and train 2 apprentice(s).

You will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing. The initial training will be broad based and could lead to a first appointment as a Maintenance Technician.

Health, Safety & Environment
- Follow all Health & safety and Environmental requirements of the site ? comply with PPE requirements at all time.
- Report all near misses, accidents, hazards, occupational illnesses and emergencies in line with correct reporting procedure. Support investigation process.

Quality
- Maintain documentation and data to ensure compliance with all applicable quality and maintenance systems
- Look for ways to improve and promote quality, using escalation procedure where appropriate
- Proactively engage in Problem Solving

Delivery & Launch Excellence
- Understand Plant and Team KPI?s
- Prioritise and respond to breakdowns when they occur in an effective and timely manner
- Work with the other site function to introduce equipment and process changes
- Carry out maintenance activities in line with site maintenance equipment strategies
- Accurately record and analyses data from equipment failures, escalating where necessary
- Support all aspects of the maintenance teams spares strategy including auditing, ordering, recording usage and replenishment
- Work in a manner that promotes and supports Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S and Visual Management

- Adhere to scrap process

Other Information

Will be required to work shifts during and following Apprenticeship
