Brief Description

MCS are looking for people with a keen interest in engineering to join them for their CNC machining apprenticeship. MCS is a centre of manufacturing excellence, supplying turned parts and precision engineered machined components to various industry sectors.

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:
• Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
• A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
• In house training in line with your requirements.

Future Prospects


At the end of the 4 year apprenticeship MCS would be looking for the successful apprentice to be able to operate set and programme CNC machines and Robots. The next stage would be a team or section leader. There would also be opportunities to branch of into other areas of the business including quality and production planning.

During the apprenticeship you will be trained in all aspects of a busy subcontract manufacturing company. The skills will include operating setting and programming a range of CNC equipment including:

- CNC Lathes and turning centres
- CNC Milling machines and machining centres
- Robot feed machines.
- MCS offer a comprehensive service to a range of blue chip customers across a range of different industries including automotive, environmental and medical.
