Brief Description

Technical Support is the pathway whereby you will sample different roles. You will provide engineering support to all production areas within the business to gain insight into different company processes.

Qualifications Required

5 GSCEs, or equivalent, at C grade or above (Grade 5-9), (including maths, English and
Science).

What does a Technical Support Apprenticeship involve?

Technical Support is the pathway whereby you will sample different roles. You will provide engineering support to all production areas within the business to gain an insight into different company processes.

Key Areas
You will gain an understanding of the rope production process including mechanical splicing, measuring, socketing and dispatch.

You will gain an understanding of the wire production process including work hardening, reduction in area, elongation, controlling temperature and lubrication.

You will produce a variety of steel types for despatch in an accurate and timely manner to meet customer orders to national and international specifications.

Completion of the job function to a high standard in terms of both quality and quantity.

Become versatile across machines running them remotely where possible to ensure maximum machine efficiency.

Other Information

On completion of your level 3 apprenticeship, you may also move on to study a HNC or Degree level qualification when you join the Technical Support team as a technician.
