Brief Description
Apprentice CNC Miller & Grinder to support existing engineers in day to day tasks in all areas of the machine shop. Guidance will be given where required to fulfil all relevant tasks.
Qualifications Required
The successful applicant wold ideally hold basic year 1 & 2 engineering qualification although this is not critical as long as they have a good understanding of an engineering environment. Essential ? 3 or 5 GCSEs at 9 ? 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language.
Personal Qualities
The applicant must be willing to take instruction from senior staff for both the operational aspect of the role but also the safety requirements when using the equipment and also be able to work as part of a team.
Skills Required
An understanding of basic manufacturing equipment such as milling machines (cnc & conventional) Conventional Lathes, surface grinders, universal grinders. Also, an understanding of basic measurement equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges etc.
Training to be Provided
? Engineering Basic Skills training ? off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
? NVQ Level 3
? A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3)
? In house training in line with your requirements.

Erodex manufacture precision tooling and gauges that service the aero industry.
The successful applicants will be working on manual milling machines(cnc & conventional) Conventional Lathes, surface grinders, universal grinders, Wire edm and die sink edm machines. Also an understanding of basic measurement equipment such as micrometers, verniers, height gauges etc. in the manufacture and over checking of the tooling that is manufactured.
Continuous support will be given to ensure the applicant can develop in the areas where they show the most interest &potential.
