Brief Description : We are looking for a laboratory technician to work in our UKAS accredited dimensional laboratory, learning how to calibrate over 60 items including high accuracy equipment.

 

Qualifications Required : Maths and English GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent qualification).
Vacancy Detail : This laboratory technician, metrology role will include the following duties:

- To work in our UKAS accredited calibration laboratory along with being involved is aspects of production
- Perform UKAS Calibrations on customers and our own dimensional equipment
- Learn our highly skilled calibrations including interferometry, which only 5 laboratories in the UK can perform.
- Getting involved in the quality manual and procedures
- Meet set deadlines
Liaise with customers & suppliers
- Follow all health & safety requirements.

Working Week : Monday to Thursday 08.00 to 17.00. Friday 08.00 to 13.00 Total hours: 39
Salary : £156.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : • Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
• In house training in line with your requirements.
• EAL Level 3 Award in Metrology

Things to consider : Bear in mind that you will be training at Make UK's training centres in Aston, Birmingham. You will therefore need to be able to travel to both Corby and Aston.

This will either involve a weekly trip to Birmingham or mean coming to Birmingham for a number of weeks at a time.

Public transport is not likely to be a viable option due to the limited availability of public transport options close to the factory site.
