Brief Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an inquisitive desire to develop the required skills to service and calibrate 3D measuring machines (CMM?s). Together with Training at Make UK, CMM specific training will be gained in-house and at customers

Qualifications Required

Essential ? 5 GCSEs at 9 ? 4 / A* - C, must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Personal Qualities

Be conscientious of a smart appearance, good communication skills, reliable, inquisitive and exhibit the enthusiasm to want to learn.

Skills Required

Confidence and enthusiasm to learn.
Clear interest in Engineering and working out ?How Things Work ! ?

Training to be Provided

? Engineering Basic Skills training ? off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
? In house training in line with your requirements.
? EAL Level 3 Award in Metrology

Once trained and achieved competent as a Service and Calibration Engineer, he/she will be provided with a company car and benefits etc. with the prospect of further advancement within the company.

Vacancy Detail

You will be highly trained to work in the world of 3 Dimensional Metrology Machines to provide a customer support facility, as part of our team.
The initial training will be broad based and for the successful candidate would lead to a first appointment as a Field Service & Calibration Engineer.
The role will involve:
- Joining our team you will have the opportunity to further your skills supporting our customers with fault finding, together with hardware and software machine upgrades.
- You will be expected to develop the skills to perform calibrations to ISO 10360-2 as directed by the Head of Laboratory and operate to the Laboratory?s Quality system.
- You will be trained in the use of Laser interferometry for error map generation and in the use of a wide variety of other sophisticated calibration equipment, which are used during the Laboratories day to day activities.

Work is mainly in the automotive, aerospace and general manufacturing industries, being diverse and interesting which will involve travel throughout the UK.
You will gain knowledge in 3D Measurement Software, Mechanical, Pneumatic and Electronic control systems within CMM?s.

Other Information

Due to the nature and unpredictability of the work, some flexibility will be required in working hours with additional overtime and accommodation payments being met by the company when appropriate.
