Brief Description

Operating in world-class engine manufacturing facilities you?ll undertake a role in either Quality Operations or Maintenance where you?ll be responsible for maintaining automated and advanced technologies, ensuring our products satisfy precision specs

Qualifications Required

You?ll need maths GCSE and English Language GCSE Grade C/level 4 or above or equivalents.

In addition, you?ll need three further GCSEs including a science, engineering, technology or an additional maths subject at Grade C/level 4 or above, or as an alternative, Engineering Vocational qualification level 3 of 90 credit value (540 GLH) or equivalents.

? Engineering Basic Skills training ? off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
? NVQ Level 3 in Engineering

QUALITY OPERATIONS

Plant Quality Operations ensures our products satisfy precision engineering specifications. You'll perform a variety of testing and validation activities ensuring the quality and performance of our engines exceeds our customer expectations.

You'll gain detailed knowledge across a range of measurement, testing, analysis, investigation processes and techniques and develop teamworking and problem-solving skills to support root cause analysis of quality concerns.

In addition, you?ll work cross-functionally to support the investigation and resolution of quality concerns as well as contribute towards the continuous improvement of engine design and/or build and validation processes.

In this area, you?ll work to improve our manufacturing techniques and processes, and gain knowledge of our vehicles and production techniques, reporting on assembly solutions, standardisation, quality and economic best practice.

MAINTENANCE

You?ll carry out preventive maintenance, diagnose and fix faults, on complex machinery and equipment to keep our manufacturing operation running smoothly. You?ll develop your ability to use problem-solving skills on robots, logistics, process system and electrical and mechanical components.

We?ll also help you develop the skills required to carry out machine alignments and interact with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) / Numerically Controlled (NC) equipment to ensure machine availability and the quality of our product.

You?ll also gain the ability to use problem-solving skills to understand and correct complex problems within the production environment. In addition, you?ll gain both electrical and mechanical training, and can develop yourself into a highly skilled and well-rounded technician.

Following your apprenticeship, you will have chosen your pathway to join either the Maintenance team or the Quality Operations team.
