Qualifications Required

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:
? Engineering Basic Skills training ? off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
? NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
? A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
? In house training in line with your requirements.

Maintenance Engineering Apprentice with Mecc Alte (UK) Limited & Cabel (UK) Limited

Mecc Alte Group is delighted to be recruiting for an Apprentice to support it?s UK division in Maintenance Engineering.

During your Apprenticeship at Mecc Alte Group, you will be allocated a buddy (typically Production Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor) to oversee and support you in a work-based learning programme.

Being a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice within Mecc Alte Group will give you practical experience and theoretical knowledge whilst you obtain formal qualifications - which are recognised and fully transferrable within the manufacturing sector.

Get experience working in multiple manufacturing areas, in a fast paced and physically demanding environment. Learn to assemble components to a high quality standard and to strict deadlines and gain excellent communication skills whilst working with your teams.

Vacancy Description

Whilst assigned to either the specific Production Engineer or Maintenance team, you will also gain experience and skills across Mecc Alte Group (inclusive of Cabel UK) in the following areas:

Gain an understanding of our Manufacturing, Assembly & Testing processes? learn about the assembly, manufacture and testing of our vast range of alternator models built for our various client/industry base
Service? understand the servicing of products i.e. strip down of machinery, fault finding, assembly, inspections and testing both on-site & off-site, repairs, servicing, commissioning of alternator products, transformers, motors etc
Production Engineering ? learn about backing up production facilities, engineering drawings, tooling, etc
Quality Control & Assurance ? understand and learn about the importance and compliance with quality control and assurance procedures in relation to manufacturing/service
Maintenance ? understand and learn about maintenance requirements in the factory, service areas, including equipment troubleshooting, fault-finding on lathes, winding equipment etc

Other Information

Initially you will be employed on a 3-4 year fixed term contract, with potential to be offered a permanent position in either Production Engineer Department or Maintenance Department (upon completion of the apprenticeship programme), however this is not guaranteed.
