Brief Description

Working within a team of technicians, you will be building equipment to a high specification where quality and accuracy is key. You will be working from drawings to build bespoke Sorion Test Equipment which is used by our customers at their sites.

Qualifications Required

GSCEs in Maths, English and Science at grade 4 / C or above

Personal Qualities

We are looking for individuals who can work without having to be heavily supervised but can be relied upon to produce quality work in a dynamic environment. Self-motivation, discipline, quick thinking and strong problem-solving skills are important, as is the tenacity to stick with and resolve a problem.

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:
? Engineering Basic Skills training ? off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
? NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
? A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
? In house training in line with your requirements.

They are looking to recruit a workshop operative apprentice to add to their team.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE ASSISTING WITH:
Electronic and Electrical Assembly
Electro-Mechanical Build
Panel Marking Out, Wiring and Assembly
Assembly of Jigs and Fixtures
Component Test Rigs
Harness Assembly, Wiring and Cabling
Panel Assembly, Soldering and Crimping
Labelling and Marking
Quality Assurance Inspection
Installation, Testing and Fault Finding on all System Components

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Much of our work is engineering or automotive focused, therefore a good knowledge and interest in motor vehicles and the motor industry would also be of benefit. Good general personal presentation and communication is expected.

Other Information

Sorion work from 7am every morning until 4pm, with the compensation that we finish at 12pm midday on Fridays.
