Brief Description

Working in a manufacturing role you will be helping manufacture special medical equipment that will improve the lives of people with disabilities. You will have the opportunity to learn a number of different skills including assembly operations, use of hand tools and workshop machinery and potentially CNC machining.

Qualifications Required

A minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade D / 3 or equivalent, especially in Maths and English Language

Hard working, reliable, punctual

Skills Required

Good communication skills, able to demonstrate a clear interest in working in the manufacturing sector

Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations

Please note that this Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship will last for 12-18 months. It will involve spending one day per week at MAKE UK's state-of-the-art Training Hub in Aston, and four days per week at the employer's site for the duration of the apprenticeship.

The design of our products is based on a thorough understanding of the theoretical and practical requirements of the management of posture for people with moderate to severe motor impairment.

All of our products are manufactured in the UK at our factory based in Birmingham, which means our products are built to the highest quality, can easily be adapted and we can react quickly.

We are seeking to employ and train one apprentice in an interesting and varied position with a well-established company manufacturing special medical equipment for disabled people.

We are looking for someone with an interest in developing engineering skills and lots of practical common sense to work as a member of a small team in a friendly environment.

You will train and work on various aspects of assembly and sub-assembly, using a range of hand and workshop tools and machinery equipment including metal saws, millers, drillers and hand tools. There is also an opportunity to get involved with CNC machining for the right candidate.

Every order we make is different, so you will need to be organised and good with numbers. You will need to be fit and used to working on your feet.

Full training will be given. You will need to be self motivated and have good common sense.

You should have good spoken English and be hardworking, reliable with an enthusiasm to learn manufacturing techniques that will help people living with disabilities across the UK.
