Qualifications Required

3 GCSEs at 9 – 3 / A* - D (4 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations
Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations
- Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- Working efficiently and effectively in an engineering environment
- Using and communicating technical information
- Lean/Business Improvement
- Mechanical maintenance/assemblies
- General Machining, Fitting and Assembly Applications
- Bench Fitting

Relevant Workplace Training
Functional Skills (If required)

Please note that this Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship will last for 12-18 months. It will involve spending one day per week at MAKE UK's state-of-the-art Training Hub in Aston, and four days per week at the employer's site for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Future Prospects

Once you have completed your apprenticeship, you will become a production operative within the company.

Permanent position as Production Operator, further development Deputy Team Leader or Team Leader role if appropriate

We are seeking 7 production apprentices to join our team. The job will include the following:

Respects all safety procedures and instructions
Applies workstation instructions to operate the process
Controls part quality and apply all identification procedures
Applies 5S practices, clean workstation during shift and at the end of the shift
Makes production declaration as required at the workstation
Participates in production changes (jigs, moulds, …) as required following suitable training
Communicates openly with colleagues and hierarchy
Informs immediately his/her managers in case of any process deviations, problems, incidents…
Participates actively in shift meetings (daily, weekly and monthly if any)
Participates actively in continuous improvement/solving problem workshops if required
During project phase, participates in any trials, dry runs and equipment debugging activities
