Brief Description

Assisting with all aspects of design within a team delivering the complete design of a water processing plant in the UK.

Qualifications Required

GCSE or equivalent – English, Maths and Science

Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:
• Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
• A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
• In house training in line with your requirements.

We are looking to take on a CAD Design engineering apprentice to join our design team.

The role will include the following tasks:
Assist with the design of a project or tender.
Assist with generating requirements for equipment or service to be purchased and define the key requirements by means of equipment specification.
Assist with evaluating quotations and develop to a point of technical compliance.
Contribute towards the supply-chain design documentation and integrate into the wider plant design.
Work with CAD designer and other design engineers to create and evolve P+ID, General Arrangement and detailed drawings to define the plant design.
Assist with developing piping and equipment layouts.
Contribute to HAZOP process. (Hazard and Operability Analysis)
Contribute towards Design Risk Assessment and capture outcome.
Work with the CAD Designer to communicate and retain close-liaison with site managers and commissioning managers during relevant stages of the project.
Liaise with client design engineers to ensure compliance and to integrate design into wider plant design.
Manage work-load to achieve the design deliverables required of the project / tender.
