Brief Description

Collins Aerospace, Marston Green has a longstanding commitment to offering a market-leading apprenticeship programme and we are currently recruiting for our next cohort of innovative apprentices to join us our Company in September 2023!

Qualifications Required

Minimum of 6 GCSE’s including English, Maths & Science at grade 4.

For those in Year 11 who have yet to obtain GCSE results, then predicted grades can be used during the application process.

Skills Required

- Educated to a minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent)/

- Ability to problem solve/

- PC literate/

- Good time management/

- Sound communicator, both written and verbally/

- Self-motivated and pro-active/

- Enthusiastic about personal development/

- Able to work both independently and within a team/

- Good attention to detail/

- A demonstrable interest in Aerospace is preferred but not essential

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:
• Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
• A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
• In house training in line with your requirements.

Future Prospects

During your apprenticeship, you will complete all the required training to obtain a stamp which passes you off to work independently and sign off on your own work.

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will then be able to seamlessly transition into the role of a test technician working in either our Electronics or Hydro-Mechanical cell depending on personal preference and business requirements.

The company would be fully supportive of individuals who would like to progress further than a HNC qualification and continue their studies up to degree level and beyond.

Vacancy Detail

Over a four (4) year Apprenticeship Programme, successful candidates will get the opportunity to not just work within our many operational cells but they will also gain experience within our support functions to gain a broad overview of our Business.

We have two operational areas:

- Electronics: Where we repair Electronic Engine Controllers for a variety of aircraft and applications

- Hydro-mechanical: Where we conduct repair & overhaul operations on Fuel Pumps, Actuators, Metering Units, and other engine products.

During the apprenticeship, you will complete a mixture of vocational theory as well as ‘on the job’ training, supported by our training providers MAKE UK and other local colleges.
