Brief Description
The Apprentice Airfield Technician will learn to carry out maintenance and installation work on Airfield electrical and mechanical equipment together with civils structures or surfaces.

Training to be Provided
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including:
● Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham in year 1
● Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
● Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
● In house training in line with your requirements.

Vacancy Detail
The Apprentice Airfield Technician will learn to carry out maintenance & installation work on airfield electrical & mechanical equipment together with civils structures/surfaces including ;.
• aeronautical lighting systems
• control equipment
• power systems
• operational manoeuvring areas (runways & taxiways)
In support of their work they will learn to use and apply ;
• engineering drawings and documents
• inspection reports & log books,
• stores requisitions & cost coding
• job completion reports
• asset management data systems
• conditional monitoring, inspections, testing & repair techniques on mechanical plant and electronic/ electrical equipment.
• collection of materials from stores/suppliers & assist with site deliveries
• new technology and systems as appropriate.
They will work as part of an established team to ensure the safe operation of assets through maintenance activities which enables compliance with Statutory Regulations and Organisational Safety Requirements.
