Brief Description

The Apprentice Baggage Engineer will learn to carry out maintenance & installation work on all Terminal Baggage Systems, including all related electrical & mechanical equipment.

Training to be Provided

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including: 
● Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)  – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham in year 1
● Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) 
● Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
● In house training in line with your requirements.

Upon successful completion there will be an opportunity to look at a permanent role within Birmingham Airport.

Vacancy Detail

The Apprentice Baggage Engineer will learn to carry out maintenance & installation work on all Terminal Baggage Systems, including all related electrical & mechanical equipment including:
• Baggage systems
• Baggage equipment
• Baggage power systems
• Baggage operational assets
In support of their work, they will learn to use and apply:
• engineering drawings and documents
• inspection reports & logbooks
• stores requisitions & cost coding
• job completion reports
• asset management data systems
• conditional monitoring, inspections, testing & repair techniques on mechanical plant and electronic/electrical equipment.
• collection of materials from stores/suppliers & assist with site deliveries
• new technology and systems as appropriate.
They will work as part of an established team to ensure the safe operation of all baggage assets through planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities which enables compliance with all Statutory Regulations and BAL Organisational Safety Requirements.
