Brief Description
The role of Operations Apprentice will encompass all areas of the shop floor, allowing for a wide variety of experience across the manufacturing process. We are looking to develop a multi-skilled operative who is able to function within the assembly, Paraid, manufacturing, powder-coating, quality and dispatch areas of the organisation.
Qualifications Required
GCSEs at grade 3 or above in maths and English language
Personal Qualities
• To be able to work both as part of a team and independently
• To be able to work from both paper and verbal instruction
• Looking to learn and develop you career through formal training
Skills Required
• Have a fine eye for details and quality
• Have a minimum level of IT skills
• Previous operational work desirable but not essential
• Previous factory experience desirable but not essential.
Training to be Provided
Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations
Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations
- Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- Working efficiently and effectively in an engineering environment
- Using and communicating technical information
- Lean/Business Improvement
- Mechanical maintenance/assemblies
- General Machining, Fitting and Assembly Applications
- Bench Fitting
Relevant Workplace Training
Functional Skills (If required)
Please note that this Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship will last for 12-18 months. It will involve spending one day per week at MAKE UK's state-of-the-art Training Hub in Aston, and four days per week at the employer's site for the duration of the apprenticeship.
Future Prospects
Upon completion of this apprenticeship, there will be the opportunity for permanent employment within one of our operations areas.

The position of Operations Apprentice will include the following responsibilities:
• To ensure all products are produced to a high standard following company processes and procedures throughout.
• To assist with the running of the operational areas and help implement new procedures and processes
• To help with deliveries as needed
• To help keep a satisfactory level of stock keeping and communication of stock replenishment
• Correct processing of the stock control system
• To attend all college classes punctually
• To complete all college assignments and work to a high standard.
