Brief Description

Mechanical and Electrical Apprenticeship – working in our Electrical Power Steering department. This area will rapidly become the future of our business model. This department is small currently but will grow in the coming years to become the key area of our business.

Qualifications Required

3 GCSEs at 9 – 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Skills Required

Team player, good communicator, electrically biased preference.

Training to be Provided

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including: 
● Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)  – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham in year 1
● Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) 
● Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
● In house training in line with your requirements.

The potential future for any candidates is very positive. Potential to be technician level that becomes a key member of our team is high.

Vacancy Detail

Working with our Electrical Power Steering team, you will apply your academic learnings to the remanufacture of key electrical products that require both mechanical and electrical repair. The whole process includes initial testing to identify root cause fault, precise repair (electrical repair or mechanical repair), re-assembly of the product and then final testing.

Other Information

Working environment is indoors, some areas are clean rooms (electrical repair). We do not operate on a shift basis currently, so day shift operating hours. There will be zero work related travel requirements as regards carrying out your role in the future.
