Brief Description
To be part of the Facilities maintenance team that ensures effective maintenance of the plant, premises, and ancillary equipment always to enable cost effective satisfying of all customer requirements.
Qualifications Required
5 GCSEs at 9 – 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.
Whilst not essential, the company like to hear from candidates who have either prior experience in the field, and / or Level 3 qualifications in engineering.

Excellent communication skills, highly organized, articulate and able work under pressure with the ability to prioritize workloads.
Training to be Provided
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll work towards several academic and vocational qualification levels throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including:
● Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Foundation Competence – in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
● Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Competence - in years 2 to 4 in company
● Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK
● In house training in line with your requirements.
● Further qualifications deemed necessary by your employer
On completion of your studies, you will achieve your full apprenticeship certification that will prove competence as a Level 3 Engineering Technician.
Future Prospects
Once you graduate you will get the opportunity to join the facilities maintenance team. Beyond that, the sky's the limit.

What will the role be doing?
• Carry out engineering activities efficiently and effectively.
• Maintaining electrical/mechanical devices and equipment.
• Maintaining fluid power equipment.
• Maintaining wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits.
• Working safely in a manufacturing environment.
• Using computer software packages to assist with engineering activities.
• Fault diagnosis and rectification on variable equipment’s
• To be fully aware of company policies and procedures and to work within the guidelines as stated.
• To be aware of and always maintain Mapei Health and Safety rules.
• Ensure that sub-ordinates have received the relevant health and safety training required for their role.
• Ensure the correct clothing is always worn, i.e. safety boots, glasses, uniform, etc.
• To actively support the formal Integrated Management System by ensuring all defined policies, processes and procedures and work instructions are accurately applied.
