Brief Description
Rayburn are searching for 3 apprentices to join their team to receive training across multiple teams and departments, from programming and setting CNC machines, Operating manual machines, technical sales, as well as gaining an overview of company operations.
Qualifications Required
A passion for engineering is more important that set qualifications.
Personal Qualities
• Be able to work part of a team or on their own.
• Be able to work from paper instruction as well as verbal.
• Have a fine eye for detail and quality.
• Min level of I.T. skills but not essential.
Skills Required
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles and hand tools
• Willingness to learn and follow structured guidance
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Training to be Provided
Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Operations
Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations
- Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
- Working efficiently and effectively in an engineering environment
- Using and communicating technical information
- Lean/Business Improvement
- Mechanical maintenance/assemblies
- General Machining, Fitting and Assembly Applications
- Bench Fitting
Relevant Workplace Training
Functional Skills (If required)
Please note that this Intermediate (Level 2) Apprenticeship will last for 12-18 months. It will involve spending time at Make UK in 4 week blocks throughout your first year. The remainder of your time will be spent at the employer site.

POSITION
As an apprentice your role will be diverse and will include:
- Programming CNC Machines
- Setting CNC Machines
- Operating manual and CNC Lathes, Milling machines, Routers and Finishers
- Robotics
- Technical Sales
- Operations and back office work
