Brief Description

Gain hands-on mechanical and electrical engineering experience across water and wastewater projects with Satec Service Ltd. Work on exciting projects across the UK, with potential overseas travel and varied site-based work. Earn a Level 3 qualification while building skills for a long-term engineering career.

Qualifications Required

5 GCSEs at 9 – 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Personal Qualities

.Good communication and teamwork skills, with the confidence to work alongside engineers and interact professionally with customers. · Reliable, punctual and well organised, with a responsible attitude towards work and college attendance.
· Good attention to detail, particularly when following technical instructions and completing engineering tasks safely.
· Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including water and wastewater treatment sites, industrial facilities and outdoor locations.
· Willing to travel throughout the UK, stay away from home when required and potentially work overseas.
· Able to work both as part of a team and increasingly independently as skills and experience develop.
· A positive attitude towards health and safety and following procedures.

Skills Required

· 4 x grade 4’s/C at GCSE (or equivalent); this must include Maths and English GCSE.
· A genuine interest in engineering and enthusiasm for learning practical mechanical and electrical skills.
· Good problem-solving skills and a logical approach to understanding how equipment works.

· Practical and hands-on, with an interest in repairing, building or maintaining equipment.
· Basic computer and digital skills for completing service reports, training records and other documentation.
· A full UK driving licence is essential,

Training to be Provided

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with your employer and Make UK, which are fully paid for, including: 
● Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Practical Foundation Training – in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
● Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Workplace Competence Training - in years 2 to 4 in company
● Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 1, 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK
● In house training in line with your requirements.
● Further qualifications deemed necessary by your employer

On completion of your studies, you will achieve your full apprenticeship certification that will prove competence as a Level 3 Water Industry Asset Maintenance Technician.

Things to Consider About the Role
· The role involves working on water and wastewater treatment sites, so candidates must be comfortable occasionally working in dirty environments and around sewage/wastewater.
· A significant amount of work is carried out outdoors in varying weather conditions and within operational industrial environments.
· The position involves regular travel throughout the UK, which can include early starts, longer days and overnight stays away from home. · Some projects may require occasional weekend or out-of-hours working, for which overtime arrangements will apply when not attending college.
· As the apprentice develops, there may be opportunities for overseas travel, which could involve spending periods away from home.
· The work is physically practical and can involve confined spaces, working at height and noisy environments; appropriate training, supervision and protective equipment will always be provided. · Candidates should be comfortable with a role where locations and day-to-day activities regularly change rather than working at the same site every day.
