Vacancy Detail

We are seeking to employ and train 9 apprentices across 8 different sites.

The first year of your apprenticeship will be a combination of residential training in Birmingham and on the job learning in our manufacturing sites during academic holidays. In year 2 you will work towards your BTEC level 3 which will include block release to Make UK (EEF). Years 2, 3 and 4 will involve more practical learning where you will be supervised and trained to rectify plant malfunctions and breakdowns safely, to enable the continuity and productivity of the plant.

As part of the maintenance team you will learn how to carry out preplanned preventative maintenance routines, install new equipment as required and isolate machinery to make it safe before dealing with fault diagnosis.

You will need to be able to manage your Make UK workload to deliver assignments on time along with your day to day work responsibilities.

Future prospects: Fully trained multi skilled maintenance engineer with potential to be supported to complete a higher apprenticeship HNC/D.
