Brief Description
The toolmaker will be part of a small team responsible for designing, manufacturing, developing and maintaining bespoke tooling to be used in prototyping & production as well as producing small batches of components. Qualifications Required
3 GCSE passes Grade 4 / C or above - to include Maths and English Language

Training to be Provided
This 4 year programme will include:
• Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
• NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
• A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
• In house training in line with your requirements.
Future Prospects

Vacancy Detail
During your apprenticeship you will develop your skills to be able to:
• Design, manufacture and development of a range of tooling such as:
o press tools, stamping dies, jigging and fixturing, special purpose machinery.
• Maintenance and improvement of existing tooling.
• Setting and programming of CNC machinery for small batch and development purposes.
• Using conventional toolroom and CNC machining techniques to manufacture components.
• Production of one-off specials to a high standard.
• Design for additive manufacturing and operation of various 3D printers.
• Involvement in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
• Any other duties that may from time to time be reasonably expected.
Other Information
Will involve working in a busy factory environment on a variety of machinery.
