Brief Description
Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineering Apprentices based at either Warnham or Ewhurst works will undertake the L3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard with a focus on mechatronics. Wienerberger has a wide range of mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment that we will develop you to install and maintain to the highest standard.
Qualifications Required
5 GCSEs at 9 – 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Training to be Provided
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including:
● Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) – in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
● Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
● Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
● In house training in line with your requirements.

When you have completed your Apprenticeship, you will be eligible to take on a permanent role with us. We also provide you with the opportunity to further your technical knowledge by undertaking a degree in engineering or working towards your managerial capability with the Wienerberger Leadership Development Programme.

This role can be based at either their Warnham Works (RH12 4QD) or Ewhurst Works (RH5 5QH) sites
What does the role involve?
- Ensuring the efficient and safe working of the plant by utilising the skills taught during your training
- Carrying out preventative maintenance daily and installation of new equipment as required
- Responding to and acting upon the fault report system
- Fault Finding and repairing break downs for mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics or electronic faults
Other Information
In Year 1 of your apprenticeship, you will travel to Make UK in Birmingham for your studies. Each unit studied is covered in 6 weeks, with 4 weeks in Birmingham full time and then 2 weeks back at company in Sussex. All travel and hotel accommodation costs for your time in Birmingham is covered by Wienerberger.
