Brief Description
This varied role will train you to be able to work throughout the manufacturing process, from the pre-production reviews, manufacturing and testing / auditing the finished products to ensure they're of the highest quality. You will be truly multi-skilled across departments to help you be able to implement improvements in the company processes.
Qualifications Required
3 GCSEs at 9 – 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Previous work experience in a heavy industrial engineering environment would be advantageous but not essential
Training to be Provided
Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with your employer and Make UK, which are fully paid for, including:
● Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Practical Foundation Training – in year 1, in 6 week blocks to include 4 weeks at Make UK and 2 weeks in company
● Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Workplace Competence Training - in years 2 to 4 in company
● Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Development Knowledge - in Years 1, 2 & 3 on block release to Make UK
● In house training in line with your requirements.
● Further qualifications deemed necessary by your employer
On completion of your studies, you will achieve your full apprenticeship certification that will prove competence as a Level 3 Machining Technician

COMPANY
W.H.Tildesley Ltd, established in 1874, is one of the oldest drop forging companies remaining in the United Kingdom.
A recent £1.4 Million refurbishment means that we now have the most modern drop forging facility in the UK. Our extensive in-house capabilities enable us to offer an efficient service by reducing the use of sub-contractors, improving quality and lead times.
ROLE
1. As part of production team manufacturing parts to high quality in relatively short lead times
2. Setting of dies and tools ready for production
3. Loading and unloading raw materials into furnaces ready for production
4. Monitoring of raw material condition during production
5. Assist with the forging of materials into various complex shapes and finishes
6. Training will be provided in all production and non production areas to develop a multi skilled individual
7. Finishing product ready for despatch to customers
8. Post production clean down and general maintenance of plant and machinery in preparation for next production schedules.
