Brief Description

We are looking for a laboratory technician to work in our UKAS accredited dimensional laboratory, learning how to calibrate over 60 items including high accuracy and precision equipment.

Qualifications Required

3 GCSEs at 9 ? 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Skills Required

Able to follow precise instructions and copy information accurately

Training to be Provided

This 3 year programme will include:
? Metrology Skills training ? off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham on either block or day release
? In house training in line with your requirements.
? EAL Level 3 Award in Metrology

Future Prospects

Successful apprentices could go on to roles such as: Special Manufacturing Supervisor or Production Manager.

This laboratory technician, metrology role will include the following duties:
? To work in our UKAS accredited calibration laboratory along with being involved is aspects of production
? Perform UKAS Calibrations on customers and our own dimensional equipment
? Learn our highly skilled calibrations including interferometry, which only 5 laboratories in the UK can perform
? Getting involved in the quality manual and procedures
? Meet set deadlines
? Liaise with customers & suppliers
? Follow all health & safety requirements
