Brief Description

As a Metrology Technician Apprentice, you'll train in the development and monitoring of measurement capability and capacity, helping towards the planning, quality, accuracy, timely delivery and evaluation of metrology tasks.

Qualifications Required

5 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade 4 (C) or above, must have maths, English language, and science subjects.

Training to be Provided

This 3 year programme will include:
• Metrology Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham on either block or day release
• In house training in line with your requirements.
• EAL Level 3 Award in Metrology

Future Prospects

Following your apprenticeship, you will become a Metrology Engineer, with the opportunity to continue to degree level.

Vacancy Detail

We are seeking to employ and train a metrology apprentice to join our team.

You will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing. The initial training will be broad based and aimed to lead to a first appointment as a Metrology Technician.

The Apprentice will be developed to inspect and verify all A&M products and assemblies driven by our customer specifications:
• Primarily CMM programme generation
• Ability to utilise conventional equipment including Micrometres, callipers, height gauges, shadow graphs, surface finish measurement.
• Generating reports required to achieve sector standards e.g.
- APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning)
- PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
- NADCAP aerospace certification

Other Information

Please note that this level 3 apprenticeship is 3 years long.

A&M aim to pay around 20% above minimum apprenticeship wage in year 1 with annual wage reviews.
